Independent Living Specialist 3
Katherine Teachout joined Central Washington Disability Resources as an Independent Living Specialist in September 2025.
Katherine received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from Western Washington University, gaining experience working with clients in various disciplines including school settings, behavioral healthcare programs and recreational activities as well as private in-home care settings.
She also has a strong background in journalism and loves hearing people’s stories.
Katherine returned to Kittitas County in April 2024, where she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. Some of her favorite pastimes include music and dance, as well as being in the outdoors.
Katherine is excited to learn her new role and how to best assist fellow community members meet their goals of living full and independent lives.
